Beach waves 'are this summer's look'

Nicole Richie, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller are all fans of long tousled wavy hair that would look right at home at the beach.

According to top hairstylist Vas Karpetas, that is the look that we should all be going for this summer.

However, he advised Elle magazine that overly teased and salt sprayed locks are a thing of the past, and that fashionistas should be striving for a chicer look.

"Blow dry your hair with a large round brush taking sections and wrapping them around the barrel," he suggested.

"Hold and dry for a few seconds, then unravel the hair and comb through with fingers."

Mr Karpetas added that if it is difficult to unravel the hair from the brush, switching the hairdryer to cool could help.

This comes after the Telegraph's Kate Shapland recently claimed that everyone should avoid the ghd straightened look this summer, opting instead for a more natural do.
